Feasibility and Alternatives Study for the Reopening to Passengers of the Urola Railway Corridor between Azpeitia and Zumaia

The old Urola railway line, which is reopened for passenger traffic, is 16 Km in length and runs between the towns of Azpeitia and Zumaia, where it connects with the existing Bilbao-San Sebastián line.

This study includes the feasibility analysis, with a demand study, operating plan and journey times, layout design, economic and financial analysis, as well as an environmental study.

The stages of work to be completed are outlined below:

  • Compilation and Analysis of information.
  • Territorial Definition. Demarcation of areas: residential, industrial, commercial, sports, leisure, etc.
  • Demand and Mobility study.
  • Generation, Analysis and Definition of alternatives.
  • Multicriteria Analysis and Economic and Financial Study.
