Works are framed within Talayuela – Cáceres section of Madrid – Extremadura High Speed Line and their objective is to enhance the value of the Talayuela – Arroyo de Santa María High Speed track formation subsection, already constructed, in order to improve the operation of the existing line Madrid – Valencia de Alcántara (L500) until the final commissioning of the entire Madrid – Extremadura High Speed railway corridor.
The scope of the contract is the assembly of a conventional gauge double track for mixed traffic on the 8.5 km track formation section already built. The layout of this track formation runs parallel to the existing line (L500 Bif. Planetario – Valencia de Alcántara), from the entrance of the line in the province of Cáceres to the vicinity of the town of Navalmoral de la Mata.
The new double track must be connected at both ends with the existing line (non-electrified single track), which will include the design of the track formation sections necessary for these connections, making the solution compatible with the new access to Navalmoral de la Mata Logistics Railway Platform, that will be built soon.
From Consultrans we appreciate, once again, the trust placed by ADIF in our #superestructura teams and railway facilities for the development of this type of projects.
